Three steps

You only do this once, on the machine you install CodeCave on.

    We send the key straight away. It starts with CC1. and is one long line — copy all of it.

    Install CodeCave

    One command. Nothing to configure, no database to run, no cloud account.

    Paste it into setup

    The last field of the first-run wizard. CodeCave checks it on your machine and you are in.

THE HONEST PART

Why we ask

CodeCave is free and runs entirely on your machine. We ask for an email so we can tell you about security updates and breaking changes, and so we know who is actually using it. That is the whole reason.

The key is checked on your machine, not ours. It is a signed token, so CodeCave verifies it offline. It never calls us to ask permission — which means it keeps working on a locked-down network, behind a corporate firewall, on a plane, and if this website is down.

Keys last a year. CodeCave will remind you before yours runs out, and an expired key never stops a working install — it just asks you to refresh it.

Lost your key? Enter the same address again and we will send a fresh one. Your old key keeps working until it expires.
